Is Coffee Good for Health?
According to Harvard’s study (2011), women who consume four or more cups of coffee per day have a 20% decreased risk of being depressed.
Coffee spread from Yemen to Mecca and Medina in the early 16th century. People in the Middle East, South India (Karnataka), Persia, Turkey, India, and northern Africa enjoy coffee. During the 17th century, the popularity of coffee grew in Europe and Southeast Asia.
Nutrition facts of Coffee:
Coffee is a sugar-free, artificially sweetened beverage with low-calorie content. It offers some health advantages, but tea contains a range of flavonoids that have antioxidant properties. The energy content of coffee infusion (instant with sugar and milk powder, whole fat) and coffee powder is 38 and 355 kcal, respectively. Carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins are all present in coffee. Caffeine is found in coffee in an average concentration of 1.25 percent.
Advantages of Coffee:
1. Refreshment: Taking a cup of coffee in the morning before a workout will boost the performance by 11-12 percent. Caffeine in coffee raises adrenaline levels in the blood, preparing the body for physical exertion.
2. Burns fat: Almost every fat-burning product contains caffeine. Caffeine raises metabolic rate by 3% to 11% and fat burning by 10% in obese people and 29% in lean people, respectively.
3. Prevent skin cancer: Coffee has been demonstrated to reduce the incidence of prostate cancer in males by 20% and endometrial cancer in women by 25%. Caffeine may also help to prevent the most prevalent type of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma.
4. Lower risk of type II Diabetics: Caffeine lowers insulin sensitivity and impairs glucose tolerance, lowering your chance of developing type 2 diabetes.
5. Lower risk of mood swing and suicide rate decrease: Caffeine activates the central nervous system and increases the production of mood-enhancing neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline. Suicidal tendencies are reduced by 50% when two cups of coffee are consumed daily.
Disadvantages of Coffee:
Drinking more than 5 cups of coffee in a day may cause diarrhea, insomnia, headaches, irregular heartbeat, nausea and vomiting, nervousness and anxiety, ringing in the ears, stomach upset, etc.
