Daniel Chandan Gomes’ culinary career began in early 1996, inspired by his Executive Gardmeger Chef father Michel Nirmol Gomes and his family’s love and respect for quality and tradition. After completing his training on Food & Beverage and Food Safety from NHTTI (famously known as Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation) and HACCP, ITT Sheraton Hotel Dhaka respectively, Mr. Daniel sought opportunities to further develop his own passion and creativity.
Mr. Daniel’s culinary method flourished during Industrial Attachment at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel followed by Sofitel City Center Hotel & Residence Dubai, the United Arab Emirates as Commis 1, where he further refined his culinary techniques. He proceeded to Pan Pacific Group, Japan, and later in the Hot Range at Oberoi Grand Hotel (A five Star Deluxe Hotel in Calcutta, India) where he served as the Demi-Chef-De-Partie. He extended his skills by joining Gulf Hotel, Bahrain, and Beach Rotana Hotel, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. pleasing the hotel’s most exclusive clientele. After spending years abroad, Chef Daniel returned to his motherland to take on the role of Executive Senior Sous Chef in Sheraton Hotel Dhaka, Bangladesh. He continued to be Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef at Best Western Plus Maple Leaf Hotel Dhaka (A Latin American Chain) and in The Peninsula Group of Hotels in Chittagong. In 2015, Chef Daniel has actively been playing the role of Corporate Executive Chef at ICI-International Culinary Institute: a state-of-the-art Training Facility fully dedicated to empowering the chef community of Bangladesh.
Chef Daniel has infused flavors from his global travels – to the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Bahrain, Nepal, India, and more – into his dishes at Eatery, bringing acclaim from diners all over the place. Duly recognized by the World Gourmet Society France, Chef Unity, Infront Hospitality Management BD, and President of Chefs Territory Bangladesh, Mr. Daniel has since established himself as an authority within the culinary industry. He has been featured on many national TV and Print Media networks while also being the Judge of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef Bangladesh, Diploma Delicious Dessert, and Restorer Ranna Olitalia. His consultancy services extend as far as Mount Elizabeth Hospital of Singapore’s Menu engineering to suit the Food Habit of the Cancer Patients to LCCI Nepal, Bangladesh Army, IBN Sina Group, AKS Khan Center for Excellence, and more.
Reflecting the motto “Lead by Example”- of his alma mater Donboscco, Calcutta, India, Chef Daniel is truly an example of excellent leadership. He also earned a 4 Year Graduation Degree in Hospitality Management (Culinary Arts) from the prestigious A.M.S Institute of India.
